This is our new school logo to celebrate our 30th Year Anniversary. This was for the year 2015. 

 

VERY EXCITING NEWS, OUR "ONCE UPON A TIME NURSERY SCHOOL EX-PUPILS ASSOCIATION" WEBSITE IS STILL UNDER CONSTRUCTION AND WILL BE LAUNCHED AS SOON AS WE HAVE COMPLETED WORKING ON IT. ON THE WEBSITE WE WILL HAVE A DEDICATED PAGE OF A GALLERY OF CLASS PHOTOS FROM 1985 TO PRESENT DATE, SCHOOL CONCERTS, SPORTS DAY AND FUN OCCASIONS.

 

30th Anniversary - Treasured Memories - A Walk Down Memory Lane

We are launching our "Once Upon a Time Ex Pupils Association" website at a date to be advised, our website is still under constructio. This is to commemorate our 30th Anniversary, where we have a fresh new logo, signage and curb signage at the entrance to the school (which will be appearing at the school from Friday 13th March 2015). We have created a website for all our ex pupils, ex parents, current pupils and parents to share with us in our walk down "Memory Lane". On our website, we will have a gallery of photos of all our classes from our founding year in 1985 to the present date.  We also have photos from all our special functions: School Concerts, Sports Days, Teddy Bear Picnics and other fun events. 

 

Treasured Memory Poster (to be created by ex pupils) To Celebrate Our 30th Anniversary and to be included in Rosy's Treasured Memories Book.

Rosy is hoping for as many Treasured Memory Posters (A3 Portrait Size) to be created by as many ex pupils as possible. This Memory Poster will be like a collage, collating photos of you at the time you attended Once Upon a Time and present day photos, along with your personal "Treasured Memories" of Rosy and to add any other fun anecdotes and thoughts, to personalise the poster for Rosy, which will be made into her "Treasured Memories Book".  You can download our template (A3 Portrait Size), if you are not able to collect the printed poster from the school. Alternatively those who choose to make their own A3 Poster Size Treasured Memory Poster, can deliver them personally to the school.  These are going to be laminated by the school and will be on display for our 3rd Term function - "Once upon a Time Reunion" "Canapes and Cocktails" - Saturday 28th November 2015.

When you have completed your Treasured Memory poster you may deliver it in person or scan it and we will then have it printed.  

All the pages will be collated and made into my "Memory Book" ............ It all begins at Once Upon a Time Nursery School Treasured Memory Book.

 

To celebrate our 30th year, we are holding a special event each term.

 

First Term 2015 - "Book Character Day"  Friday 20th March.

In the First Term, we decided to invovle the classes of 2015 and volunteer parents. This was staged as our "Book Character Day" . A wonderland of characters coming alive in a story-mode. All the children dressed up as their favourite book characters, there were 14 different book stations which were set up in the garden ready for the children to sit down and listen to a story read by a teacher or parent. This was to entice the children into the atmosphere of each story.  It was, not only a reading experience, but also a tactile adventure, including taste, feel, smell, touch and audio.  We made the stories come alive. The reader dressed up in character and made this experience inviting by having props, displays and a theme setting. There were 8 children in a group and each group rotated from story to story, and in between stories, having a lovely picnic tea in the garden.  This was a lovely, gentle, entertaining and most memorable day.

Second Term 2015 - "Village Green Fun Fayre"  Friday 19th June

In the second term we staged a "Fun Fayre", solely for our present pupils to experience the fun of stalls and games in a Village Green setting. The garden was full of different stalls, manned by teachers and volunteering parents.  We envisaged a different array of stalls namely hoopla, pinning the tail on the donkey, bobbing for apples, balloon pop, ring toss, bucket toss, can knock down, digging for dinosaurs, funny photo stand, lolly pop pyramid tree and many other fun games. Candy floss and popcorn tasting was available.

Third Term 2015 - " Once Upon a Time School Reunion" - "Cocktails and Canapes"  Saturday 28th November.

"A Walk Down Memory Lane" - "Treasured Memories".  

We want to give you a walk down memory lane and a sharing of treasured memories. Live music, would enhance the atmosphere, and if any ex pupil or pupils who play a musical instrument or are in a band would kindly consider playing on the day, please contcact Rosy. (Nicolette Kiige has offered to play together with her string quartet, but we would still like to have a band or singer for the function).

We will display all the Treasured Memory posters from all my ex-pupils up the drive way, on the day of the reunion, so it will evoke a sense of nostalgia as you walk up to the party.

In the garden there will be a gallery of photos displayed from "then" and "now" of ex pupils and the year classes. 

 

We are requesting that all our ex-pupis submit their completed poster as soon as possible, so we can start laminating and preparing our display board. It would be lovely if you also included a picture of your new family, if you are married, in the collage area of the poster, where you can place your saved photos. Thank you, we have had an overwhelming response and are delighted that it was such a special memory for you too.
